“Hope you don’t mind if I finish my dinner.” He appeared to be in his late fifties and was so overweight he barely fit in the pilot’s seat. He wore cargo shorts and the largest tie-dye T-shirt I had ever seen. His feet were bare. Sweat dotted his upper lip and forehead. He ate the last bite of his cheeseburger and wiped his face with a napkin.

Lol idk how I feel about the author making the pilot be an overweight guy who has a heart attack.

“Straight ahead. Do you see it bobbing up and down?” I pointed at it.

With all the stuff washing up, you'd think the rescuers would track the debris and the currents.

We swam for about a half hour, and right before we got out of the water, T.J. stepped on something. He dove under the surface. When he came up, he held a tennis shoe in his hand.
Jillian
Yeah...Idk about all this stuff that keeps washing up, and yet no one can find them.

“I love you, Anna.” The surprised look on her face told me she hadn’t seen that coming. “You weren’t supposed to fall in love,” she whispered. “Well, I did,” I said, looking into her eyes. “I’ve been in love with you for months. I’m telling you now because I think you love me, too, Anna. You just don’t think you’re supposed to. You’ll tell me when you’re ready. I can wait.” I pulled her mouth down to mine and kissed her, and when it ended I smiled and said, “Happy birthday.”
