People don’t leave quickly, but they do leave suddenly. It’s the pot and the frog and the boiling water. You have no idea your relationship is slowly dying. And then, suddenly, they were gone.

“She’s a complicated woman.” He glances over at me. “It’s not complicated to fight for the people you love.”
