“It’s exhausting. I just want to feel something. Anything.” I sigh. “I’m convinced I’m broken,” I whisper.
Hudson is the kind of man who breaks hearts for a living. Flawlessly handsome with dark brown hair and striking green eyes, his scowl brings me to my knees. He’s broody and even more unavailable than I am.
She smirks as she stands. “Anyway, it was nice seeing you again.” As she walks away, I realize I’m genuinely smiling. It’s been a long time since a woman has had that effect on me. Shit.
Hudson continues chopping. Each swing rings out sharply through the woods, and I can’t seem to tear my gaze away from him as he works. When he releases a deep grunt, my body instinctively responds. Fuck, I need to get a grip.
