“I think we can shatter just about every fucking rule that exists, baby. Tonight, I’m all yours.”
“Close your eyes, focus on how good it feels. I’ve gotta get you nice and stretched so you can fit in every. Single. Inch.”
“Good, now be a good girl and come all over my fingers. I want to lick it all up after.”
“Get your ass up here and take a seat. It’s the best one in the house.”
She can choke me as hard as she wants. As long as I have that pretty pussy smothering my face, I’ll die a happy man.
“Be a good boy and fuck me, Jax.” It’s like she’s managed to unleash a feral beast inside of me. I let out a growl and my hand shoots out, grabbing hold of her throat. I squeeze tight, claiming my lips with her own as I roll us over so I’m positioned between her legs. “If it means I get to sink inside your soaking pussy, then I’ll be such a good fucking boy for you, baby.”
My brother seriously fucked up letting this woman go. I’m kinda glad, since she’s in my arms and I get to experience this. Damn shame it will only ever be once.
My junk is sticking to the inside of my thigh, and it makes me want to punch something.
Who the fuck does he think he is talking to my Sofia like that? Wait. Mine? This possessive beast comes from nowhere with her. I don’t think I could stop myself.
I’ve let this woman invade my mind for two years. Some kind of divine intervention landed her back on my lap tonight. I’m not letting her go a second time. I’ve regretted it every day since.
“Are you an ass or a boobs man?” “I’m a Sofia man. I want to see all of you.”
“You motherfucker.” He spits out as he pushes himself up to his knees. Before he can launch himself at me, I forcefully kick him in the chest, knocking him back down and stamping my foot on his throat. “I think you mean, wife-fucker.”
Alexei is my beat-up bro tonight. “Aw, looks like we’re a couple. Hotty and Toddy. What do you think?” He loops his lanky arm over my shoulder and grins.
Alexei throws up his hands. “When I was in Siberia, I fought a great bear! See this scar?” He points with the bottle to a thin white line on his upper arm. Turning, he saunters down the hall. Nikolai turns to me. “That is a bicycle accident when he was ten.”
Alexei’s voice carries from the back of the house. “When I was in Moscow, I killed two men who were trying to mug me! I got a scar on my stomach from it!” “He ran into a post when he was fifteen because he put a bucket on his head,” Nikolai whispers, a smile dancing over his lips.
“No, tigritsa. I’m not a good person at all.” I glide my nose along her smooth cheek, down to her neck.  “But that doesn’t matter. I will always be your good boy.”
“Well, the King had a pretty high standard set by this beautiful, unattainable little redhead. Who left the next morning and took part of his broken heart with her. I’ve simply been existing. Those women, they didn’t spark me back to life like you did. So, I didn’t want them.”
“You are completely reckless, Jax.”  “I prefer the term chaotic. It’s my quirk.”
Alexei’s bicep strains against his throat. Nikolai, now red faced, grabs hold of Alexei, who is finding this whole thing funny.  “I got the big one!” Alexei
“Oooh, you sending spicy messages?” Alexei calls out, walking towards me with a wild smirk, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
Before Sofia and Maeve, I wouldn’t have given a shit. I live, I die. Whatever.  But now, I have a purpose. There's a glimmer of hope for me. Something I am clinging on to. The world isn’t as black as it once was. And that is because of my girls.
“So, let me get this straight. A guy simply says some things about me and you cave his skull in?” I blink, shaking my head, trying to wrap my head around his thought process here.  “Yep, and I’d do it again. I told you I’d protect you, that you’re safe with me, that means from anyone. I think I made that clear.”
She is the one who anchors me, gives me a reason to claw my way out of the dark. When I am with her, the world is calm.  It’s like everything stops screaming inside my mind. The second she touches me, it dissipates into nothing but her.
I can hear Alexei muttering under his breath. It almost sounds like he’s reciting the dictionary.
Cellophane wrapped bundles are stacked inside. Each one has a sticker with an embellished letter “V” on it. “Vacation. Visitor. Various,” Alexei mutters, pulling the packages out and stacking them in our duffel bags. He turns to me, his silver tooth gleaming. “I’m practicing my English before I take it out on them.” His thumb jerks over his shoulder at the two bound and gagged men kneeling on the concrete.
Alexei saunters over. “Where did you pick these up?” He waves one of the tightly wrapped kilos in front of the strung up man’s face. “No answer? Let’s start with the clues…” Alexei pulls out a long knife. “I want to teach you words. V is for violence.” He lunges forward and drags the tip of his blade from the left shoulder to the middle of the chest. Then, from the right side, to meet his mark in the middle.
“Knox is a pussy. I made him fall like a child with one teeny tiny bullet.” Nikolai leans back and thumps himself on the chest. “I’ve been shot with a bear gun and still stood and fought.” My eyes flick to Alexei, who nods enthusiastically. Jesus.
“Alexei, is this an English thing?” Nikolai raises an eyebrow as he looks down. Giggles erupt. “I gave you a hand.” Alexei is laughing so hard he’s bent over, clutching his knees. “English is fun.”
Alexei grins at me from the couch and flips me the middle finger.
“I love you, Sofia. You complete me in ways I never even realized I was missing. You are everything. I live for you. I will die for you. You are, and always will be, the perfect in the midst of my chaos.”
Alexei takes up the rear of the follow train behind Elena and Maeve. I swear he’s the biggest child. Decked out with a tiara and a smear of lipstick that Elena applied to make him “pretty”, he’s the loudest of the three.
To my baby girl, my tigryonok.  I want you to know just how much I love you. Even if you only had me in your life for a brief time. Know that it meant more to me than you can imagine.  I hope you grow up to be just like your beautiful mommy.  Kind, brave, a Queen.  But most of all. I just hope you can be happy.  That is all I wish for, baby.  I will always regret not being a good enough father for you. Trust me, everything will be better for you without me. That doesn’t mean you don’t own my heart and my soul. Because you do.  I hope one day, you can forgive me for leaving you like this.  Even

“You aren’t taking my baby anywhere, you bitch.”
With a burst of energy, I shove her as hard as I can, and time seems to stretch as she stumbles backwards. With a resounding crack, her head strikes the corner of the kitchen island, sending a powerful vibration through the house as she thumps down onto the floor. Holy shit. What have I just done?
“Alexei, you tie the whore.”  “Normally that sentence has a much sexier meaning,” he grins at me.
Lara has her arms crossed over her chest and she shakes her head slowly. “Jax, that is not how you torture a woman.” “What? Yea, pain makes even the biggest men talk.” Looking back at Anna, she’s not very big. It wouldn’t take much to break her. And, as angry as I feel, I could tear her in half. “Women are made to endure agony. What hurts the most, is to damage our hearts.” She flits her hands, shooing me away. “Let me show you.”
Alexei snores loudly with a ribbon of drool running down the corner of his face.
Nikolai climbs out of his Hellcat. “I missed the fun. I had to get Alexei’s sleeping ass loaded. Do you know how hard it is to wrestle a limp Russian?”
There isn’t a cure for a mind that works against you. There is no magic button to press to make the dark thoughts go away. I’ll have to battle this every day, probably for the rest of my life. And I will. I will continue to fight for us. For me. For our daughter. And most of all, for this beautiful soul in front of me. I will never stop, and with her by my side, I know I can do it. She is my strength in this life. My forever. Now the good days outweigh the bad. I have a radiant light in my darkened world. And in spite of everything, there is always beauty in chaos.
“Are you ready for more chaos, Mr. Carter?” His tongue glides over his lip as he clasps my hand. “Always, sweetheart. I am the king of it, remember?” “I do, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
