precisely because we do not see ‘all things’ under his feet now, the Church must get busy in the task of preparing the world for Jesus’ cosmic lordship. Because we are incorporated into the new-creation life of Jesus’ resurrection, we can commit ourselves to kingdom-work, knowing that what we do is neither ‘worthless’ nor ‘in vain’. What is more – and this is crucial – what we do matters because it carries over into the final new creation.
