Knowledge of and belief in the deep love of God is how we come to love ourselves.
How we feel about our kids is how God feels about us. The way we adore them.
To me, parenthood is God’s ultimate real-life metaphor; it is the closest humans will ever get to grasping how God relates to us.
It does not matter how our kids act; our love for them is unshakable. So it is with God.
use our brains to remind our hearts.
You can remember him from the past and find confidence. You can imagine him in the future and find hope. But in the now, that’s where you find him.
Wherever you are in this moment and however you feel, if you want to immediately alter the atmosphere, if you want to instantly change the air, praise him.
beauty is God’s love language.
He takes our guilt far away and replaces it with his peace.
I would rather be hopeful and wrong—than hopeless and right.
Do you know how many times you will “ruin your life” or “ruin your career”? Quite a few. Oops, you did it again. But God is not daunted. He can handle a few of your missteps. In fact, given the chance, he will dazzle you with how he can weave your mistakes into something surprising and beautiful.
