In 2023, New York Times reporter Kevin Roose published a public transcript of his conversations with Bing, where he documented how the chatbot seemed to darkly fantasize about him, and encouraged him to leave his wife to run off with Bing. Once again, Microsoft was left with a rogue chatbot, and they pulled the plug on Bing . . . for less than a week.
