Aidoneus had the filthiest mouth. And gods did I love it. He said things that made me feel desired to the point that I could almost believe he cared. If I didn’t think too long on who he was or where he was taking me, I let myself envision a future where I could really be his. Where someone could actually love me. Not that I would want that person—demon—to be him. But the possibility of having a choice in my future would be nice.
“You will be my queen, Persephone. My savior. Even if our realms fall and the gods curse us, I won’t let you go. Not now. Not ever.”
“And I would watch it burn a thousand times over to know you were safe.”
“It would simplify things. Your union has already been blessed by the gods and woven by the fates. All that’s left to do is recite the vows and fuck.”

“I give myself to you, Persephone.” Gently, I removed the crown of pins from her head, setting them aside for what was to come. The air became charged, buzzing with power. I pressed a kiss to her forehead, feeling our magic reach for one another. “All that I once was, I yield to you.” My lips brushed her cheeks, my nose grazing her own as I hovered over her lips. “All that I will be is yours. From now, until the end of time, we will be as one.”
“I give myself to you, Hades. All that I once was, I yield to you. All that I will be is yours.” She swallowed, her gaze locking with mine as the electricity pricked across our skin. “From now until the end of time, we will be as one.”
“You already own all of me, Hades,” she breathed, dropping her knees to open herself further. “Now, show me what it means to be fucked by a god.” “Yes, my queen.”
