“There’s nowhere in this world or any other you can go that I won’t follow.”
If this was what sinning got me, if this was the hell others warned of, I would gladly burn for eternity.
“You’ve always been powerful, Persephone. The fates have deemed it so. You’re the promised one meant to save our worlds. A child of earth. The bringer of life. You are Persephone, The Destroyer. You were always meant to be feared.”
All I was asking for was the freedom to fuck up my life the way I wanted to. My life wouldn’t be perfect or heroic. There wouldn’t be any songs written about me or great legends to commemorate my name… but the book of my life would be written by me, the pages filled with failures and successes, adventures and heartbreaks of my own device.
“And I would watch it burn a thousand times over to know you were safe.”
Hades was my demon, bloodthirsty and dark, but mine nonetheless.
“Give me your anger, little witch. Glare at me with hatred and fury, with infinite loathing. I’ll take it all, every scowl. Every curse. So long as you live.”
“The world above may burn. The realms could splinter and fall, and still my soul would find yours. In each life. In every rebirth. Until the end of time, I will love you.”
She bathed my reality in light. In life. But it was so much more than her magic. It was her. Her goodness. Her hope. I had been existing in a bland sheet of gray, but Persephone saw the world in vivid shades of color.
