The chaotic bundle of thoughts bouncing around in my brain comes to a perfect halt as the tallest, most wildly beautiful male I’ve ever seen walks through the door.
If he wants a simpering, wet towel of a girl, he’ll be sorely mistaken.
Some sort of low, vibrating noise rings through the room and I realize it’s coming from him. He’s...growling.
“Did you just slap my ass?” I snarl. He responds by doing it again and I begin making plans to kill him in his sleep.
“When I taste you, it won’t be the Gods you cry out for, little liar,”
“A gilded cage is still a cage—it just looks nicer.”
“I will always be mad when someone hurts you, A gahrá, because according to my beast, we’re familiars.”
"Fam—lee. Tahr-an fam—lee." A quiet male voice, tentative and gentle, sounds in my head. Oh my Gods. "Taran, how...?" I can't even finish the sentence. Taran can speak. He can talk to me, really talk. "Lo-love.” He replies. “I talk be-caus I love."
Maybe I'm not always the rock. Perhaps I'm the ocean, uncontrollable and wild, and the ones I love are the rocks, tethering me to shore.
"None of that comes even close to how I feel about you. You're in my soul, Amalia. I would wait a lifetime and then some if that's what you need."
"You would really wait for me?" The words are barely a whisper but both the man and the beast stare back at me. "I would wait an eternity for you, little spark." "If only we had that much time,"
“I understand, Amalia. I see you and accept you for all that you are. You don't need to explain yourself to me. You never need to explain."
"I see you, A gahrá." His sweet smokey scent floods my senses as Os presses a soft kiss to my forehead, his warmth grounding me. "I see you for all that you are and all that you aren't. I see your heart and all of your broken pieces. I accept you just as you are."
let free. Kydis stills and the brown Dragon falters.
“For all that you’ve given, and all that you still have to give; for you, Amalia Roth, I will fight one last time,”
“I don’t know, Ama. But you can’t just give up living because you’re afraid of what’s around the corner. Stop living your life so afraid!”
You've protected everyone else around you for your entire life, haven't you? But who is there to protect you, Amalia? You deserve to be saved, too."
"That's where you're wrong. I do know you, little spark. I've been waiting over a thousand years for you, and I would wait a thousand more. My soul knows yours, and your soul knows mine. You just have to listen."
“I’m not holding back anymore, A gahrá. Damn the rules and damn the High Council. You are mine and I am yours, and nothing will keep me from you. Nothing.”
"A gahrá when I take you, the only thought in your head will be more, more, more."
"We have time, A gahrá. Even if it doesn’t feel like it. I will make us time, okay?"
"Everything that you are and that you aren’t; you are perfect, Amalia Roth. You are perfect and you are mine."
“Ride my face, Amalia. Unleash yourself.”
“Call Remus an idiot or speak to him like that again, and I’ll slit your throat in your sleep.”
"I do not fear my own death, Dragon. I fear of living in a world where the ones I love are dead."
"Help our people see the skies once again, Amalia Roth, even if it's simply to say goodbye,"
"Would it make you feel better to know that watching you fight always makes me hard? That whole time, all I could think about was you riding me, covered in my blood. I didn't give a fuck about anything else; just you. There is only you."
"You play dirty, Ostia," I say, trying to sound firm but it comes out as a moan. Remus chuckles, "Hurry up, and I'll show you just how dirty I can play...if you can get your legs to work.”
"Fine, Amalia. You win. I am doing this because every fucking time I look at you, I see the pain in your eyes, and it breaks me because it..." He takes a deep breath, "because it reminds me so much of my own pain. I know what it is to feel alone, Amalia. I know what it is to wonder if there's any point in going forward at all."
You are a light in this dark and awful world; you are a light, my light - and my heart is yours.” We sit there, hands clasped, looking into each other's
I’m starved for your blood and the sweet honey between your legs. I miss the taste of your sweet honey," Os purrs in my head. “When we’re done here, you’re going to sit on my face so I can feat on you and that perfect pussy of yours. I do love dessert.”
“The only words I want coming out of your wicked little mouth right now are yes, more, and harder, please.”
“Look, A gahrá, look at how well we fit. Look at how perfectly you take me.”
“Give them Hell, spark.”
“My name is Amalia Asteroth, daughter of Jhonu and Ophyia Asteroth Scion of the House of Morrigyn, last living descendant of the Kingdom of Arkaydia, Gray wytch of the Ulster Wald, and friend to Dragons."
