In it, the renowned physicist and mathematician argued that the human mind could perform tasks that no computer ever could. The ideas that Hassabis and others had proposed about the brain being “mechanistic” and a useful inspiration for building AI didn’t hold water, because the human brain was unique. It was virtually impossible to replicate.
