As I look at it now, her skin scarred with the reminder of me, it’s hard to imagine anything feeling more important than this: the nickname that’s made me hundreds of thousands of dollars, that’s made me a household name in my sport, that’s plastered along the side of my business. It all started here with her. She’s carried it with her—carried me with her—all this time. She’s always been mine.
