“My son and girlfriend are here. It wouldn’t be right to leave after everything that happened. And I don’t want to miss out on Phoenix’s life any more than I already have. I missed his birth, his first steps, his first birthday, and so many other things. I know there’s nothing I could’ve done because I didn’t know Lola was pregnant, but I can do something about it now. I know it’s inevitable to miss out on certain things, but if I can prevent it, I’m going to. And Lola, I don’t ever want her to feel like she has to do anything alone.”
