It was a shock to accept that Carolyn, Lauren, and John, three young people of promise, were lost without warning. Their life force was so strong that it was difficult to grasp that it no longer inhabited their physical forms. Suddenly, the media was kinder to Carolyn, lamenting the “loss of a princess” and recalling her “cool, regal demeanor” and “demure sparkle.” But it would not last.
