It all turned on one word in the chorus, where in the original version, I repeatedly sang the line “Pull the tapeworm out of my ass!” The other guys were not okay with that. If I could sum up their argument, it went something like this: as System’s lead singer, if I was singing about pulling a tapeworm out of my ass, it was implicitly referring to all their asses too.
