To All Readers Who Wished For A Light In Their Darkness
When she’s at her most vulnerable, she looks for me. I’m her shelter, even when she can trust nothing. When her own mind turns against her, I’m her safety.
I bury her face against my neck, wondering how long she’ll be in this state of partial awareness. It doesn’t truly matter. I’ll wait in the abyss with her until she’s ready.
I was born to be hurt. It is all I am here for.
“Don’t go where I can’t follow,” I whisper. “If you find yourself falling into your mind, don’t leave me behind. Wherever you’re going is where I am headed, too.”
She was a hurricane, and I don’t want to clear the storm with the sun, not at all. I want to dance in the rain.
“Let me be the light that pierces your darkness, and when that doesn’t work, let me hide in the darkness with you,”
