“You’re a good wife.” He smiles with one corner of his mouth. “Am I a good husband, Ray?” His question catches me off guard. I stop shampooing his hair but keep my hands there. Is he serious? No other person in this world has treated me as well as he treats me. When I’m with him, I don’t think about who people expect me to be or if something I did was weird or not. I’m me.
