“Let me lend you some of my strength.”
“I don’t know what bothers you; that is your business. But I figured you didn’t need to suffer alone.”
“You’re a queen. Make it fucking bow.”
I needed Gray. But I didn’t want to need her. She hated me anyway. I disgusted her, and rightfully so. Who was I to think I could ever be redeemable?
Now, he was only a touch of gold and madness, instead of a full blown assault.
“You look so fucking beautiful in your full form,” Chrome whispered. “You’re my rainbow. My beam of hope.”
“I’m going to need you to clarify what you mean by ‘touch you.’ Because I’m going to be honest, Gray. There’s a million ways I want to touch you. And none of them are innocent.”
“What I do know is that we share a bond. It’s called the Twin Soul Bond. I don’t know everything about it, just that we share two halves of the same soul that go back for lifetimes.”
“Come on out, little savage. I wanna play.”
“I will always find you, Gray,” Chrome whispered. Somehow, we’d gravitated to the point where our lips nearly touched when he said, “No matter the realm. No matter if I’m Endarkened. I will always find you.”
“I bet you taste divine. Like my salvation.”
He shifted his weight to one arm against the wall so he could free the other to loosely grip my throat. “Be a good girl for me while I make you come on my mouth.”
The sight of someone so powerful on his knees for me shattered the last of any resolve I had.
“You taste like oblivion. I’m forever lost to you.”
“I need to be reminded of the good parts of myself.”
“As much as you bring me light, I bask in your darkness, too. Because I want all of you. Good, bad, light, and dark. Whole or broken. I want you to love the dark parts of yourself because dark and light exists within us all, Gray.”
“No matter what happens to me, I’ll always find you. In every lifetime. In every realm. Because it’s always been you for me—ever since I was ten years old.”
Our lips grazed one another as he bore the weight of his emotions onto me through our bond. Tears sprang to my eyes at their intensity. My heart couldn’t contain it all.
“You’ll see that I’ll always find you.” I kissed the top of her head. “I swear on my broken soul.”
We were real. She was mine. And I was eternally hers.
Oh, fuck that. He kneels for no one.
