He knew the humans would be scared and would turn on the people they were told were responsible. They’d never really made it a habit to think for themselves with those types of things.
The mask that declared I feared no one, even though I was familiar enough with the emotion that it had become a companion. I may harbor fear like a host of an oversized parasite, but I’d be sure to instill more into others around me.

But sometimes, our trauma makes us react before we can rationally respond.
Some things could never fully heal; you just learned to live with the pain, but you also figured out how to move forward in your life without allowing that pain to dictate your path or choices.
Some wounds shone on our exterior like armor. They spoke for themselves.
It’s only when we come to embrace our whole selves that we find any sort of peace. I may be a monster, but I’m a monster against other monsters. I’ll gladly be a monster for those I care about. My family. For you.”
