It was his voice that whispered in my mind: Fuck the fear.
“I couldn’t leave you, Remi.” He brushed his lips along my cheek. “I made it this far, and my heart, my soul, refused to go another foot, another inch, away from you.” His hand found the nape of my neck. “I love you. With everything that I am and everything that I will ever be, I love you.”
“Does this mean your heart beats for me?”
“It was always you.”
His smile deepened, revealing his dimple, and I kissed that, too, as I would a hundred more times. A thousand. Every day for the rest of our very long lives.
“Beg.” My heart skipped a beat, but Jack’s tone left no room for argument, no questioning. “Beg her for a touch, Ed. Beg her for a taste.” Jack swiveled me to him and crashed his mouth to mine, thrusting his tongue in my mouth with a groan that had me arching into his chest. When he pulled back, I was left in a daze, blinking rapidly. “Because God, she tastes damn good.”
“Do you know what happens when an alpha comes, Remi?”
