He doesn’t ask her where they’re going. It seems he is content to be invested with the deed or act itself. To him, she believes, the small actions and individual things count. Unlike his father, he doesn’t need to know an end plan or an ultimate goal, just the now and the here, tackling life one step, or one blow, at a time. There’s infinite peace in that attitude.
