I need to arrange my next several videos carefully. It’s time to hide more of my spending habits from my father. I take funds from my various trusts to supposedly party and buy high-end goods, but actually funnel the money into various charities.
Being involved in good deeds can only help my social media profile, but I have to be careful about how many charities I appear to support.
Revealing my soft underbelly, so my brother had once told me, will always be a mistake with our father.
“You’re not a killer, and that’s a good thing.” Right. Women like me have other people do the killing for them.
aquamarine crystals and rose quartz stones. My talismans.
strongest connection to aquamarines. There can only be one in every generation, and you’re somehow it.
“We spend hours upon hours disseminating misinformation about crystal energy and its restorative power. It has taken the four families centuries to convince the public that magic does not exist.” Nico snorts. “Magic in the conventional sense does not exist.”
“Crystal energy is a fact,
“That’s ridiculous. Most of the world has absolutely no idea that human energy can be harnessed via crystals, and we need to keep it that way. Such energy must be a zero sum game—there’s
“I’m a sociopath. Maybe a psychopath. Or who knows? Just the fucked-up villain of the piece.”
My friend has the kindest heart in the world, even when she’s encouraging me to ride men like horses. She’s an attorney who’s as ambitious they come.
My body is rioting.
I’m not a bull in a china shop. No. Instead, I’m the silent whisper of death right before the pain starts.
alexandrite, with its ability to change colors, has the propensity to speed up transfer and then store more data much faster than currently imaginable—and
“Call yourself whatever you want.” He takes my arm, his touch electric and firm. “I’m calling you mine.”
Hell. I knew I wanted her—not in a million years did I expect to like her.
“You’re my reason for breathing, and you were meant to be mine.”
Humans break easier than technology.
I want to be different from everybody else to him. Why, I am choosing not to examine because nobody wants to see the darkness inside themselves. Well, nobody but Thorn. He embraces it.
“Hate and love are but two sides of the same coin, forged in the same mixing of metals. Like pain and pleasure.”
“If you’re here when I return tonight, it’s for good—as long as either of us live, and if you’re here, it’s my way. Period.”
That lost desperation inside me, that dark void I won’t admit to anybody, has found an answering one in him. Together, we click.
“Magic and computer science.” “And quantum physics,”
There isn’t another human being on the planet I’d willingly get on my knees for,
He kisses me again almost as a reward and I realize it’s a good thing we’re temporary. If he gave it half an effort, he’d own me.
While I’d meant to give up that stupid barrier in my body, I’m very much afraid I’ve given up more than that. Forget my heart. Does he have my soul?
I feel like a painting that he brushed with vibrant colors of passion and need last night. Now with his sudden coldness, all of the hues are blotted out. I’m gray and lifeless. Listless.
“You’re the fucking reason for everything in my entire universe. I’ll worship you until I die, and most probably after that as well.” I swallow. “That wasn’t worship,”
Alana and Justice are about the only people who matter to me.
Oddly enough, I’m utterly devoid of anxiety regarding my love for Alana. It’s an inferno, scorching and indomitable, immune to any ailment. Of that, I am profoundly certain.
“There’s only one way. Ask for it.” Silence takes me. “You want to break me.” It’s almost a sob. “I’ve already broken you.” His eyes are burning coals with flecks of silver on fire. “Now I’ll put you back together.”
“Nothing can hurt you. Tell that little girl in the dream that I’ll slay any monster that comes at her for the rest of her life. And have her look at those windows.”
It’s the essence of you, the very spirit, that I won’t allow you to change. The rest is up to you.”
“Everything we do, everything we are, is perfect. Tell me you understand.”
“You know we’re not just in your world, right?” Dark stubble covers his jaw, giving him the look of a wild rogue, despite the designer suit. “You entered my world the first time you opened your mouth and said please.” He caresses my nape with sure and firm fingers. “What you don’t seem to have figured out is that you’re the absolute center of that world.”
Oh, I’m hell in a fight, but put me in front of my computer, and I’m a god.
if it’s possible to have fallen in love in one weekend, I did it.
We’ll probably end up killing each other, but being with any other man just doesn’t seem right. I frown.
Is it possible what Thorn said is accurate? That he broke me and put me back together so that I can only fit with him? Or maybe he’s who I’ve always been searching for.
I don’t think so. I’m also not entirely sure I want a good guy. But I do want Thorn.
“He deserves love, and he deserves for somebody to see him. All of him.”
I know we don’t make sense to most people, but I feel him where it counts, and I want the best for him. Love hurts.
We’re two halves of the same whole. Just like that coin he told me about.
All I know is how I feel, and I love Thorn Beathach with everything I am. He’s rough and lives by his own rules, rather dark ones, but he loves me. He’ll always choose me in every situation, and I need that. I also want to choose him.
“It’s my stones. I’ve been reading all of your books, the ones I borrowed, and certain crystals interact with each other in ways we’ve forgotten.” Pink filters across her high cheekbones. “Or you and I interact and our stones follow.”
“Insanity is relative. It depends on who has who locked in what cage,”
“As a rule, a beautiful woman is a terrible disappointment.”
“Your eyes,” he murmurs. “The blue dissolves into violet like the Butterfly pea flower. A man could find solace from everlasting torment just staring into those velvety depths.”
