For those who wished for a grumpy, hot as coal billionaire for Christmas this year, Jack Sinclair is my gift to you.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Sinclair.” I like hearing her say my name.
The problem is figuring out how to maintain a professional working relationship with a woman I’m tempted to bend over my desk.
I admit I enjoy provoking her so I can witness her sassy side.
God, why does she have to be so cute when she’s mad?
She flashes me a grin, making me think of all the wicked things I could do with that pretty little mouth of hers.
“How do you expect me to sleep when you’re staring at me like a creeper?” “Need me to take the edge off, baby?”
Everyone at the office tends to cower with fear when I enter a room, but not Presley. She’s never been intimidated or afraid to call me out when she doesn’t like something I’ve said or done. It’s one of the reasons I consider her my best employee.
“You have a thing for staring at me, don’t you?” she says softly. “Can you blame me when you’re so goddamn beautiful?”
I’ve already learned that it’s pointless to argue with a Stafford, so I do as she said, taking a seat at the counter.
Even first thing in the morning, she’s still the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen.
