Until this moment, this second, I hadn’t realized that I had been looking for her my entire life.
“Soul mates and twin flames are rare; they’re destined to be together.”
“Soul mates can be anyone. A friend, a lover, someone you met briefly.” Raven wasn’t anyone. “Twin flames are two halves of one soul. There’s an intense connection that can’t be replicated. There’s pain associated with flames, both people mirroring one another. When you find your twin, you can’t be apart from them without going a little mad.”
“Twin flame,” I said. “I think she’s my twin flame.” And if they were such a rarity, I was determined to do nothing but treasure her.
She was so desperate to be part of something and feel welcomed.
I wanted to take her sorrow and let it rest in my bones.
Of course, I wanted to see her again, but I also wanted to murder her boyfriend, and I had to decide which was more important.
“You’re my heaven.” He found my collarbone. “You’re my hell. And I want to burn in you.”
Some villains were born, but I would be self-made. I would become a beast of the underworld to protect her. Half-man, half-monster if it meant she was safe.
“You always love me best in the dark,”
“When a woman says no, she means no. It’s not left open for your own interpretation.”
As a shooting star quickly crossed the sky, I closed my eyes and made a wish for answers. I didn’t need anyone to solve these problems for me. I was strong enough to do it on my own.
He took my heart with him. It was time to see who I was without one.
“Only men not to be trusted don’t like chocolate.”
“Don’t torture her for too long, Zeke. She’s strong, but trapped. And that’s why Cade holds her. You’re trying to unlock her cage.”
“Protect me, but don’t suffocate me.”
“You’re an old soul with a young heart, my girl. That means you feel everything. You can’t let this grief overcome you. You are the magic, Raven, not the other way around.”
My true addiction was locked away in a castle like some fucking damsel in distress. And it was time she rescue herself.
“Once you find your counterpart, it might feel as if you recognize them from past lives, and that is correct. Twin flames are reincarnated souls, forever following the other through each lifetime until they can settle into an ultimate release—their final existence.”
“Raven, all you need to know is that love isn’t adequate enough to describe how I feel about you and that my soul will follow you from lifetime to lifetime. Isn’t that enough?”
“You always love me best in the dark,” I whispered. “Because you are my light.”
“I’m the Queen of Seolia. I belong to no one.” “You are the Queen of my Soul, and you will always be mine.”
