Am I the only one who’s scared at the idea of those two putting down the sharp objects and working together?
God help you if your standards for men have fallen that low.
The hate that she has for Jullian is so funny.
I do care too much about what others think. Whether about my makeup, clothes, or life choices,
Julian is 100 percent my type. Hell, he single-handedly redefined my type in college,
stomp on the tip of Julian’s shoe with the sharp point of my heel. The asshole doesn’t flinch, most likely because he is made of ice.
Julian closes the gap between us until I’m not sure where my body ends and his begins. I take a small step forward, which Julian matches with one of his own. When I raise my foot to stomp on his again, Julian clamps his hand around my hip, stopping me.
Butterflies.
“He’s not your type.” “And how would you know that?” I blurt out. “I just know.”
He JUST knows.
“There’s a difference between someone challenging you
to be the best version of yourself because they care”—he sneers—“and someone looking for a fight.”
“Where’s your mask?” “I only had one left.”
He’d rather go without a mask, than her go without one. Simple gesture that means a lot.
I didn’t think when I ran out of my office. Or when I broke five different road rules in my panic to make it back to the Founder’s house.
Ahhh. Get a man that cares.
“I’m going to need you to move out of the way first.” “I’d rather carry you.”
“I’m going to park in the lot behind the library.” “Why?” “Because I don’t want anyone to witness your murder.” “You’ll be changing your opinion on ghosts real quick if you kill me today.”
A majority of the library rules were added after a few incidents between Julian and me over the years with lighters, air horns, and Nerf guns.
Imagine library rules being based off of you, lol.
The only way to get rid of the constant throbbing is to remove the person causing it in the first place.
I spend way too much time living in my head, fearing I’ll never be good enough without ever trying to prove to someone that I can be.
“You. I want you.”
“I’m not going to risk you getting hurt again.”
Tell me what’s wrong and I’ll fix it.
know I will never be good enough for her, but if I can help her heal and protect her from any more assholes, then I’ve served my purpose.
“When did we go from wanting to murder each other to wanting to murder for one another?”
“If you have to change yourself to fit someone’s ideal version of you, then that’s not love.”
He supported your dreams without you knowing it.
“That man would rather hurt himself before putting you in true harm’s way.”
“Your issue isn’t depending on people but rather finding the right people to depend on.”
“Because I want to give you a hundred different reasons to stay.”
“I’m falling in love with you, Dahlia. I don’t expect you to say it back after everything you’ve been through this year, but I didn’t want to go another night without you knowing how I feel. Just like I can’t go another day with you thinking I’m okay with us keeping things casual.”
“I missed out on a chance to make you mine before, but I don’t plan on making the same mistake again. We’re the real deal, sweetheart, and I’m done letting you believe anything else.”
“Everything will be fine because you have me, and I’m not going to let anything bad happen to you,”
