“Torturing you is my favorite pastime.”
“Where are you going?” Panic bleeds into her voice. To do something stupidly nice. “I’m in the mood for Cisco’s.”
“Blackmail has no expiration date.”
“What are you doing?” I hiss like a wounded animal. “Saving you from yourself.”
Money might buy me a lot of things, but it can’t cure the gaping hole in my chest that only deepens with every passing year.
Because Muñozes never quit—not even on ourselves.”
Am I the only one who’s scared at the idea of those two putting down the sharp objects and working together?
I do care too much about what others think. Whether about my makeup, clothes, or life choices,
Julian is 100 percent my type. Hell, he single-handedly redefined my type in college,
stomp on the tip of Julian’s shoe with the sharp point of my heel. The asshole doesn’t flinch, most likely because he is made of ice.
“There’s a difference between someone challenging you
to be the best version of yourself because they care”—he sneers—“and someone looking for a fight.”
“I’m going to need you to move out of the way first.” “I’d rather carry you.”

“When did we go from wanting to murder each other to wanting to murder for one another?”
“If you have to change yourself to fit someone’s ideal version of you, then that’s not love.”
He supported your dreams without you knowing it.
“That man would rather hurt himself before putting you in true harm’s way.”
“Your issue isn’t depending on people but rather finding the right people to depend on.”
“Because I want to give you a hundred different reasons to stay.”
“I’m falling in love with you, Dahlia. I don’t expect you to say it back after everything you’ve been through this year, but I didn’t want to go another night without you knowing how I feel. Just like I can’t go another day with you thinking I’m okay with us keeping things casual.”
“I missed out on a chance to make you mine before, but I don’t plan on making the same mistake again. We’re the real deal, sweetheart, and I’m done letting you believe anything else.”
“Everything will be fine because you have me, and I’m not going to let anything bad happen to you,”
