“No trick. No lie.” Darius placed a hand on his chest. “Heart beating. I’m right here. Against all the motherfucking odds. Now get the fuck up and let me hug you.”
“Tell me, brother, how many stars did you have to fuck to be given another chance at life?” Orion asked. Darius turned to him with a smirk creeping across his face. “No stars, Lance. But your dad took it like a pro.” “You motherfucker,”
“This is Tory’s doing,” Caleb said knowingly, and Darius nodded. “Who else?” he said. “My wife has a way of getting what she wants.”
deny death is to become death. I knew that when I strode through The Veil, and I hope it means that we can win this war at last and remake Solaria the way our parents wished for it to be remade.” “Hail to that,” Darcy said, and I pulled her into a hug, the tension between us finally falling away entirely.
“First rule of Cardinal Magic,” I murmured. “Do not be a fucking idiot.”
“They don’t need a wicked little witch telling them whether their Order is worthy. They don’t need segregation and persecution. There is only one thing in this world that makes a Fae less than any other. And that is the weight of their soul. So tell me, Honey…” I leaned down to glare at her with a sneer. “If the stars weighed your soul in the scales of Libra, would they find it heavy with sin? Would they see the tarnish of prejudice and cruelty upon the essence of all you are? Because I was born within the stars of justice, and I can see it plain and clear. Beneath the false face of beauty you

The fact that Highspell was bald with a bumpy, wart-bound head was the least of her ugliness, because right there in the centre of her face, instead of a nose, was a huge, veiny, flaccid cock. Balls and all, perched neatly beneath her eyes.
“It was an old friend. I slept with her husband,” she cleared her throat. “And her father – not at the same time, of course, but… anyway, when it all came out, she tracked me down and cursed me with some twisted dark magic she’d learned from who even knows where. She said if…if I was so addicted to cock then I could have one of my own to look at forevermore.” Highspell hiccupped a sob before continuing. “I’ve been hunting for a way to break the curse for years, but I’ve never found a way to escape it.”
Against all odds, the twins had been crowned, the four Heirs were reunited, and the fate of this war felt like it was spinning on a coin once again. I just hoped when it landed, it did so in our favour.
“The stars told me we’re Nebula Allies,” Darius said. “I’m your number one Nebula Ally, apparently. There was someone called Gabe who came in at like number three or something.” I barked a laugh. “You’re going to fuck with him constantly, aren’t you?” “Fuck with the Seer who’s all-knowing?” he pretended to be shocked, then smiled like a heathen. “Oh yes, I’m going to pretend I have far more insight than he’ll ever comprehend.”
hand on my shoulder, his expression kind of sad, but hopeful too. “Azriel asked me to tell you that he is forever with you. That he loves you and wants you to know you are worthy of the position you’re yet to rise to. He said he’ll be watching you through every moment and that he couldn’t hold more pride in his heart for you if he tried.”
The Ledger of Fallen Stars, a huge and beautiful book sat in the centre of their work, open wide as if preparing to divulge a secret.
“You are the Starfall Legion – hand selected one by one to rain down hell upon the enemies of your monarchs. The cream of the crop, the pearls in our oyster, the sharp side of the royal blade!”
appeared in the centre of the square right in the heart of Celestia before the mighty Court of Solaria building where the so-called king cast rule and judgement over a land he held no true power in.
Court of Solaria as the name did suggest, but also housed the offices held by Lionel and his false government. His actions set off the alarm to give those inside the time they needed to evacuate before we tore it down.
“Long live the True Queens,” he breathed, and as if his words had been a summons from the stars above, a powerful roar of voices went up at his back, a veritable cacophony of nightmares for all who stood before it. The people of Celestia had raced from their homes to finally join the rebellion. The Fae of this city had had enough, and they were rallying to the call of their queens at last.
Gus Vulpecula: the asshole who was responsible for filling the media with bullshit accounts of Lionel’s rule and smearing the name of the rebellion. Irvine McReedy: the enforcer and general who Lionel had put in charge of the Nebula Inquisition Centres. And last of all, my so-called mother, Linda, who had been heading up his government and buying into his bullshit in her quest for power which she wasn’t capable of claiming for herself the way a true Fae would.
“You will live with this cost,” I hissed at her. “And you will be forced to face the truth of what you are at your core without a drop of magic to hide your true self from the world and no more power than a worm writhing in the dirt.”
“Some Dragons in our family line chose to covet their treasure even in death,” he’d spat. “The hordes of these Dragons have never been found. They stole their riches away and concealed them somewhere in this world, yet to be discovered, choosing to die while maintaining possession of their gold rather than letting it pass on in inheritance to the next generation.”
“Five stones may sit upon a throne, but none of them hold water. The greatest of them fails at flame, the weakest is its daughter. In air, two of them will excel, but the other may be your freedom, though linger too long on the earth and you may fail to see them.”
“What the fuck?” Seth breathed, but his words were drowned out by Darius’s deep growl. “That’s not my fucking wife.”
“We can test their magical signature,” Orion said. “I’ll get a guiding crystal.” He shot away and returned at speed just as Geraldine and Darius came running up the path behind him. “Hey husband,” Tory said, stepping up to the gate and reaching for Darius through it. “You can feel my heart beating, can’t you?” He smiled roguishly, taking her hand. “It’s them,” he confirmed to the others.
“Great Dragoon of the lagoon. Will you deny or confirm that I am too loved to be flailed?” “Sure,” he grunted, seeming amused.
Two notably smaller chairs sat either side of them, one with Guild Master etched into its surface and the other with King Consort.
“Well, I love him. He’s got all the best qualities,” Seth decided. “Fluffy? Check. Deadly? Check. Cute in a murderous kind of way? Check. What’s not to like?”
“We were faced with a choice when we ascended into our positions as queens,” I said, the reality of that fact still too insane to linger on. “We had the choice to break the curse on our family line and return the Imperial Star or keep it and try to wield it ourselves. As every other member of our family line who used the Imperial Star ended up dead or worse because of the curse attached to it, we decided to take the control of our own fate back. So we returned it, and Clydinius gained a body. We thought we’d be able to fight him but…”
“Even the moon has turned to look at the two of you,” she said. “The twins who defy fate itself. And I get the feeling the carnage that trails in your wake is only the beginning of your tale. The world itself will shake when it hears you roar as one.” “Is that another Moon Wolf gift talking?” I asked her. Rosalie shrugged a shoulder inked with rosebuds, but her expression was knowing. “You saw me, didn’t you?” Darius’s rough voice came from behind me, and we turned to look as he and Orion strode towards us, their windswept hair speaking of the Vampire speed they’d used to catch up to us after

“You speak about my queen like that again and you’ll regret it,” he said in a low voice which made a shiver of adrenaline run down my spine.
“All hail the True Queens,” Darius rumbled from behind me, his words a caress along my neck, his hand landing on my shoulder as he made it clear that my claim was no lie. “Everyone loyal to the kingdom of Solaria has bent the knee, Marguerite. The other Heirs, the Councillors, every student at the academy, and countless rebels to my father's false claim. So if you’re as loyal to me as you say, then I suggest you follow suit.”
Something was wrong. I knew it in the depths of my soul, and yet I was utterly drunk on this feeling, unable to calm the thrashing of my heart. “Death pays for death,” Darius breathed against my mouth, his hand tight around my neck, his eyes alight with the same thrill I was lost in.
“I think we just figured out the cost of my life,” Darius growled in agreement. “The Ferryman wants paying back in death.”
in the light of the holy power that drenched my skin. A fallen star. Forced into the confines of Lavinia’s shadows so that it could not release its power into the world and die.
“Thrones are for those of flesh and bone. Clydinius seeks what has never been sought by our kind and never should be sought. The essence of earthly life. Power beyond measure, an existence without restraint.” “What essence do you refer to?” I pressed. “I can’t hold it much longer, my King,” Lavinia said breathlessly, her strain clear. “The essence of all,”
“The crux of being. Dominion. The star with a body of flesh shall come seeking me and one other. For three of us here on earth would form a Celestial Trinity. A union forbidden by the Origin herself, because it would be so terrible, it could splinter time and shatter the very forces of nature the universe is ruled by. It could pull all the stars from the sky. You must never let this come to pass.”
I growled to let her know I wasn’t pleased about being ditched in favour of some dusty tome, and she flipped me off as casually as breathing.
Roxy turned to look at me over her shoulder, her green eyes sparking with the kind of trouble that we both knew I’d be following her into headfirst and cursing her out for ever suggesting.
This creature of mine. This dream I had claimed. The beautiful thief of my heart.
“How long will this take?” Caleb asked as the seconds dragged into minutes, and a muffled thump echoed from somewhere inside the compound. “Not as long as getting fucked by a Werewolf,” she muttered. “What?” he asked, his head snapping around to look at her and I smirked. “Longer than getting fucked by a Vampire though I’d say,” I added thoughtfully. “You know, because of the speed thing.”
“That’s a whole lot of cows,” Orion murmured as he took in the rows of agents, stumbling into me and I caught his arm. “I’ve got a lot of milking to do. It’s gonna take me all night.”
“That’s the High Commander of the FIB,” Darius said in disbelief. “She’ll take quite some milking,” Orion murmured.
My Wolf needs are demanding I have cuddles and an emotionally bonding conversation.”
“It’s instructions,” I said, my own heart ticking quicker at finding anything at all, even if it wasn’t the answer we needed. “Drink while kneeling at the feet of the royals as they perch upon a blessed throne once their coronation has been acknowledged by the stars, and be marked as their subject with the sword of the Guild.”
“Fuck,” I breathed. “Fuck,” Luca echoed. “Exactly,” I said to him. “Okay, little dude. We’re gonna go on an adventure.” “Venture!” he said excitedly.
“My wife, one of the True Queens, strode into death and stole me back from the hands of fate,”
“She and her sister are more powerful than you can comprehend. They are capable of far more than you could even imagine. And they are coming for you.”
my wife wanted food, then I’d sure as hell feed her.
“I missed you today,” I murmured, rinsing the suds from her hair with warm water I cast from my palm. “So clingy,” she teased sleepily. “Sometimes, I think I miss you even while you’re with me, the knowledge that you’ll have somewhere to go, something to do, somewhere to be, always hanging there, waiting to steal you away again.” Roxy breathed a laugh then moaned again as I worked the conditioner through her hair next. “I am a queen,” she pointed out. “Everyone wants a piece of you,” I agreed.
“Did you carry a picnic hamper all the way across campus for me like Little Red Riding Hood?” she laughed while I balanced the thing on the chair beside the tub and opened it up. I snorted. “Yeah, baby, I did. And what big eyes you’ve got, grandmama.”
nothing between them now. “It requires a kiss. Closed mouth works just fine. Maybe you made out with him because of your sex addiction-” “Oh fuck you,” she laughed loudly, splashing me aggressively with the water and making sure that any part of me which hadn’t been wet before definitely was now. I barked a laugh too, grabbing her ankle and yanking to drag her under the water. Roxy kicked me in the fucking jaw as she went under then damn near drowned me as she flung her power into the water and threw the entire contents of the tub over my head.
I reared over her, pushing up onto my knees and dragging her ass into my lap so I could watch her where she still lay before me on the bed.
