Many musical stories are about love and its limitless power over us. But protagonists are frequently unaware at the outset of their journey that their true love awaits them at the end of the road. This catalyst, or springboard, is referred to by many, including me, as the “inciting incident.” In most cases, this moment will powerfully alter the protagonist’s perspective.
