People who hold the door while you’re way too far away are not in a hurry. If they’re extroverts wanting to pass their sunshine on to others, they’ll say something about the weather as you walk by. An introvert who simply miscalculated but was too awkward to let go of the door in time will offer a closed mouth smile, head bob, or shoulder shrug. A person who opens the door just enough to fit themselves through and ensure it closes before they move on, they have cats. Or other legged beings that will bolt at any given opportunity.
