“Hope that boy’s worth it. You’ll lose everything.” “They are everything.”
Lilah Darling will be the death of me. And I can’t wait to suffer.
Feels so fucking good to not roll over. Also exhausting. But maybe that’s just today.
“You still wouldn’t have believed. You thought I was another omega trying to scheme my way into your money.” “We’re assholes. I’m just saying. You went to such extremes to hide from us. Give us a chance to go to the same extremes for you now that we believe the truth.” I pretend his ask doesn’t knock out my knees, hopping onto the pole and spinning. “Do your best.” “I am.” Atlas keeps watching me practice. He doesn’t blink.
“And I fully fucking failed to go check on her. Every one of us forced her into that barrel.”
“You swear on your life you’re good to watch her?” I tsk. Swear on something with value. “I swear on her life.”
There’s a fucking bonfire. Jett likes to submit.
No sweat suits, no knives, no hiding. Just me on the stage, baring my soul. And a little bit of my ass.
Still don’t know how to flirt. But a dominance battle bordering on eye-fuck? I can throw that down.
“What are they?” “Gerbera daisies. I didn’t know what kind you liked.” “Neither did I.”
I’m gasping, squeezing my thighs together because apparently, I get wet over Wyverns who maim in my defense.
“Sleep. No one can hurt you while I’m here.” Orion asked for nothing. Gave me everything. And I don’t think I’m ever going to recover.
“Then you don’t mind if I screw with them?” “Mind?” Orion’s laugh bubbles. “That’s my love language.” “Good. I’m not showering.” “They’re going to fucking flip,” he says gleefully.
Finn zooms to my tossed panties like a freaking bloodhound, snapping them up and into his pocket.
“They’re mine,” Jett’s voice is barely a mutter, but the fucking ice. I shiver while Doctor Morgan pales. “Share,” Finn agrees happily, rubbing his palms.
“And we needed cash,” Finn adds. “Stars are expensive.”
Finally. This is how it should’ve been since the beginning.
“Say the word, Starfighter. I’ll turn those bitches into people leather.”
Jett nods. “Leather-bound book.” “Bro.” Finn fist-bumps him, beaming. When the hell did they become best murder buddies?
I have knives in my bathing suit.
“Of?” Someone new to kill? “Barrel.” Fuck. Well, I’m not killing myself. Should, but I can’t lose Lilah. “You’re here and you’re mine.” A rumble-purr kicks up, so natural.
Can’t let those other fuckers see. They’ll copy. This shit is my intellectual property.
“You’re an omega, little Star. You do whatever the fuck you want.” “Is that how it works?” “From now on.”
Lilah motherfucking Darling mounts my face. Best day of my life.
My only response is a panicked baby goat noise.
“Nothing!” I say, too high-pitched. “Just hungry. Gonna cock. I mean cock. I mean cook!”
“We’ll help cook,” Atlas starts. “I’ve been learning.“ “I’ll help cock.” Finn licks his lips.
That’s when I know he’s my fucking soulmate.
“Liiiiiilaaaah.” Hunter dabs teary eyes with his napkin. “Why?” I can’t help it. I lose my shit, gripping my belly and giggling like an idiot. Orion collapses, cackling into my shoulder. Payback is sweet and ongoing.
All that time I spent terrified I’d lose them, and it’s the best fucking thing that’s ever happened.
Thought he wasn’t interested. Did he just not know how?
“It’s okay,” he purrs. “I trust you to take care of her. Tell me if I’m not doing a good job. Tell me if I’m fucking up. There’s nothing I won’t throw away to keep my omegas safe.”
Must ban ridiculous pet names.
“Sorry?” I’m not sorry. He knows it too, smirking.
I’m gonna download so many books that my favorite authors can all buy second homes.
“Not…?” My gaze sweeps to Finn and Jett—but they both have the cold, coiled readiness of pro fighters. Even I’m tempted to see how I compare. Jett shrugs. “I was challenged once.” Finn covers his heart and gives a wistful sigh. “Someday.” Never mind.
Finn kisses my knuckles ’til I’m squirming and Hunter has to pull him away. Only Hunter’s worse. He overwrites Finn’s kisses with teasing nibbles until Finn pulls a knife. Laughing while he disarms him, Hunter drags Finn away.
He needs a hug.
“What are we?” “House cats.” My lips fall open. “What?” “House cats,” he insists. “Kinda cranky and cuddly and we’ll fuck shit up if you leave us alone too long.”
There’s a little ball of sunshine near my heart, warming the old shadows. “I can feel you.” It’s not a pack bond, but something else. Something ours.
I yank him back, kiss his nose, and feel the sunshine in my heart. I have zero doubts. Bit him. Licked him. Keeping him forever.
I wanna gut punch the asshole who’s making us wait. Lilah needs the safety of our mate bond now. But oh fucking right. It’s me. I’m the asshole.
If their heats sync—
Now he’s busy grilling his new BFF, Granny Celeste, for omega secrets.
Scorpio gives me the same get-in-line look he always gives Atlas, but I’m not his son and Max Wyvern never hit me—just dropped me in the woods for survival training any time I opened my mouth to complain. Ah, fathers.
“Here’s the fucking thing,” I bark. “You don’t get to tell us how to run our pack.”
Lilah and the guys are my family. Not our fathers’ legacy.
I’m about to test my luck on a hug when I scent blood. I stiffen. Heart stutters. What the— Orion struts to throw an arm around her shoulders. Then he stretches his neck like a smug fucking giraffe, flashing me his thick-ass bandage and the biggest fuck you smile.
“Busy day?” “Just lounged. No big deal.” Orion casually scratches his bandage. He’s glowing. Blue eyes sparkling. All golden sunshine like I haven’t seen in years. I couldn’t be happier or more fucking feral with jealousy.
Orion makes her happy. Can’t wait to do the same.
