Evert ignores him. “Is that really your only hold-up?” he asks Ronak. “I want to know. Is it really just the political shit and the powers?” At first, I don’t think Ronak is going to answer. He’s clenching his teeth hard enough to break at least a molar or two. “Yes,” he finally growls. “Huh.” That surprises me.
