“Come here,” Bellamy said, in a gentle tone I hadn’t heard before. He reached out, wrapping me in his strong arms. Pulling me in close, he settled back down in bed. I rested on his chest, feeling the rise and fall of his breath. It was much calmer than my own. “Nyla found Talay. She came back shortly after you drifted off,” Bellamy said in a comforting tone. Relief washed over me knowing my serpent was safe. “Thank you,” I whispered.
