Women’s greatest fear is violence or being murdered. But men’s biggest fear? Ridicule. I don’t know what further proof you need of the patriarchy having brainwashed us all.
“When your needs are consistently not being met, you end up turning into the person you most fear you may actually be.”
You are worth the respect that you so freely give to others, so if someone refuses to give that to you as a fellow human, then offer it to yourself in the form of advocacy.
The only thing more powerful than knowing your own worth is recognizing and asserting it,
Because what comes with subjecting yourself to vulnerability, hurt, and uncertainty is the possibility of opening yourself up to so much love, support, and confidence, and the opportunity to find community with like-minded people who see you for who you really are.
