“The truth is that when I look at you,” he rasps, “it’s like peering into a blazing sun. I’m drawn to you, and I would happily go blind if your face was the last thing I saw.”
“I feel that there is no limit to the things I would do for you to keep you safe. To make you happy. To see you smile and hear you laugh.”
“Then know that this is the truth too. All I can think about now is how you taste,”
“And I am now burdened with not only the knowledge of that taste but my desire to consume you again.”
Gods above.
“I don’t want to rush things with you,” he breathes as his lips skim across mine. “But make no mistake, Rhea, you have complete and total power over me.”
“Rhea, I see every part of who you are. And the more time we spend together, the more moments when you offer another glimpse of yourself to me, it doesn’t make me want you any less,” he says softly, his heavy gaze cementing his words. “If you’re in pieces, then I want every fucking one of them. I want you—in any way you can give me. No scenario changes that.”
“I need you,” I breathe, feeling the force of that need bearing down on me. “Like nothing I’ve ever felt before. It’s an ache that stirs in the deepest parts of me and curls out until it’s soaked into my bones. It’s the way that the stars need the night and the moon needs the sun. It’s relentless and bottomless and like free-falling all at once.”
“I need you too, but more than that, I crave you. You feed my soul in a way nothing else ever has before. You’ve altered my very being by the way you’ve carved yourself into my heart,”
