“Guess we’re doing this the hard way,” she quipped as she ducked out of the way and landed another powerful kick to his side.
His voice was sin and decadence wrapped up in a cool timbre.
“You should see what they get up to in chapter fifty-five,” she said before she could stop herself. Book recommendations were clearly her weakness.
“No, Rose. I want you to remember every one of our interactions.”

“This is a fake relationship, Luc. My judgment of you doesn’t matter.” “Funny, isn’t it, that I find that it does,” Luc replied.
“Even as a child, Aaron had this unique ability to read in any setting. No matter what chaos erupts around him—screaming, crying, laughing—he doesn’t hear it when in the company of a good book.”
On cue, he responded, “I assure you that I could be every bit as satisfying as the pastry.” His smile held a laugh now as he made his way toward her.
