I spent one summer in a military school–-themed summer camp, which was just as fun as it sounds. My parents became suspicious about what was going on in this camp when it seemed like we were doing manual labor disguised as “activities.” The final straw, however, was when I told my parents that the counselors insisted on watching all the boys when they peed to avoid any “funny business” in the bathroom.
