King underwent a complete physical examination at Boston’s Lahey Clinic. Dr. Rosemary Murphy measured him at 5’6 1/2”, 166 1/2 pounds, pulse 70, normal and strong in all respects. He was fit and confident, which was fortunate because he needed all his strength to overcome objections to Dexter on the part of his wife and father.
