I’ve never previously considered an affair with a stranger but right now all that I can think about is carpet burn and bite marks.
I have never seen a man like this in my whole damn life. Maybe I wouldn’t mind if he actually murdered me.
He looks angry. At himself. And it’s the hottest thing that I’ve ever seen.
“Okay, here’s what we’re gonna do. I’m gonna talk to that piece over there and tell him to stay the hell away. But if for some reason he’s hankering for a bust-up and shows his damned face here again, I’m gonna give you my number and you’re gonna dial me straight away. Then I’ll sort him out, pronto.”
“Let me put this into words that you’ll understand. You set foot on my site again you’ll be leaving with a souvenir. You put your hands on the woman on my site again you won’t be leaving, period.”
Now the last thing that I want is for her to stay out of my way. I want her in my way. I need her close by, so that I can keep on looking out for her.
I’ve seen Mitch’s truck and it’s the sexiest vehicle that I’ve ever seen.
“You don’t need to apologise for anything. Just get better for me, Harper.”
“So you won’t judge me if I say that I don’t want to drink anything alcoholic, and that I’d rather get a milkshake?” she asks, avoiding my eyes as her cheeks burn brighter. I wrap my left arm around the back of her seat and reply, “All I’d say to that is: what flavour, baby?”
Even when you’re covered in dirt you’re more clean-cut than any of those shallow-ass motherfuckers could ever pretend to be.”
“It feels… very big. I’m too small for you.” He breathes a laugh. “I’ll get it in, trust me.”
I’m so in love with you that I want to skip past the diamond necklace section and go straight to the diamond rings.”
“Not only are you going to take my money, you’re going to take my last name.”
“I love you, Harper. And I’m always going to look after you.” She gives me a sparkly smile. “Forever?” I grin back at her. “Forever.”
