Looking as stricken as if she’s confessing to murder, Parker blurts out, “I told a lie about you. I told a lie and I’m sorry because you just said you hate lies.” I do hate that. But it’s different when it’s Parker.

Maybe I have commitment issues. Or maybe it’s that no one in my life has ever been committed to me. And I’ve never had anyone I felt was worth me committing to them.

I think of Logan’s words earlier, how he said I’m not a pawn. His protectiveness combined with his respect for me is like the ultimate gold standard for men.
