In 1993, I tried out the Mosaic browser, created by Marc Andreessen and Eric Bina while they were grad students at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I got to know Andreessen later, for better and worse (much worse as time went on and he became odder). His original browser was fast and able to display images and quickly made him a legend.
