Netflix was founded by Marc Randolph and Hastings as a DVD delivery service that depended on the U.S. postal service. In 2007, they announced a shift to a video on demand service of OPC (other people’s content). Netflix would not generate original content until House of Cards in 2013. At first, Netflix offered a sweet deal for the studios, creating another lucrative revenue stream.
