It was clear that social polarization was happening due to tech, which is why I soon took to calling the social networking giant “antisocial media.” The violations of privacy had been obvious at Facebook from the early days and continued on. These breaches were always met with an after-the-fact apology by Zuckerberg or Sandberg. The “we’re so sorry” became a joke to some of the reporters who covered the company.
