The one I remember most vividly from my childhood was served by a now-defunct strip-mall restaurant run by the kindest Greek family. The only restaurant I’ve ever seen my father comfortable in. The waiters never made fun of his accent, or acted like they couldn’t understand him. Nobody ever stared at us.
