Pain at the hands of family, in the name of love and pride, even without physical harm, can destroy you.
Observing the tallest of them first, I’m met with muscles on top of muscles. His cropped brown hair and broad frame as he stands with his arms folded over his chest make him look almost daunting but, if anything, I find him intriguing. Especially his eyes. One’s brown, the other green. It’s alluring. He’s dressed in a white loose-fit tank and a pair of gray shorts with a scowl on his face as he assesses me.
the guy beside him rakes his fingers through his tousled brown hair, blue eyes piercing into my skin as his chiseled jaw flexes for the briefest second before a wicked grin touches his lips.
There’s a moody one and a flirt. How original. Continuing around the group, inquisitive onyx eyes meet mine. He tucks his black hair behind his ear as he purses his lips. His face is completely expressionless, making it hard for me to get a read off him. With his hands tucked into his pants pockets, he seems happy to just observe what’s going on around him.
Hazel eyes are framed with black-rimmed glasses and his blond hair sticks out in every direction as if he hasn’t stopped tugging at the ends. He’s wearing a band tee with worn jeans and an almost-knowing smile on his face.
Creed is Mr. Quiet with the onyx eyes, Eldon with the wicked grin, and Brax the muscle man.
“But I must say, Raven, you have me impressed so far.” I turn to face her as she assesses me, eyes slowly trailing from the tips of my sneakers to my face. “I have a feeling you’re going to shine like a star here, Raven.” I laugh, shaking my head at her. That’s not the compliment she wants it to be. Not to me, at least. “The issue is, Professor Figgins, stars don’t shine. They burn.”
“One taste won’t ever be enough of you, Raven. Consider your taste on my tongue a show of me being yours.”
“I don’t know. I just know that in my vision, a war was coming, a war across realms, threatening all of existence. And the raven…she saved us all.”
Follow your heart, find solace in the shadows, and take down the dawn.”
