His mate had tried to kill him. Twice. He wasn’t sure if he was aroused or appalled. Maybe a little of both.
His lips lowered to her ears. “My darkness dances with yours.”
“You’re the only one that matters to me.”
“Your darkness might play well with mine, darling, but it won’t with others.”
His eyes were still closed, but his brows furrowed. His next words were almost inaudible. “Please let me keep you.”
“You know why. Until you make peace with yourself, and the dark twisted chaos of your past, you’ll never harness your gift.”
She was his sole purpose in life. He didn’t give a shit about anything else, and he wasn’t sorry about that.
Then there was that dark, selfish part of him that would do anything to keep her, even betray his own. And he wasn’t ready to face those demons.
If she deceived him, he would find a way to get her back. But if anyone else was hurt because of his selfishness, he would never forgive himself.
she was okay with everyone suffering too. If it meant she’d save him, she would poison the world. Did that make her a villain?
If she was a villain for his love, then he was one back.
deal, I’d still have agreed to the favor because I’ll burn the world to ash if it brought us together. If that makes me a villain, then I don’t give a fuck.”
