It was as though an artist had reached into Silver’s deepest, darkest fantasies and crafted him especially for her. Must be a glamor. No one was that good looking.
His mate had tried to kill him. Twice. He wasn’t sure if he was aroused or appalled. Maybe a little of both.
He did what he did because he felt an intrinsic fulfillment—power, if you will—from taking care of another’s needs, especially when they didn’t know what they needed themselves.
She slid arms around the thick scaled neck and choked as she locked eyes with Shade. “And let you have all the fun?” He fell in love in that moment.

“Chaos, Spirit, Earth, Air, Fire, and Water are the six elements that make up the Well. There is no Well without chaos. You have a place in this world, Silver. A valuable one. Don’t fight it.”
“Don’t be afraid of the dark in here, darling. Learn to love yourself, for all your twisted darkness. I am.”
His lips curved in a way that said they never asked for permission, only forgiveness.
