Upon reading Bonhoeffer’s reflections, some might protest that “stupidity” is a pejorative term that lacks scientific precision. However, it seems to me that the word is, in fact, an accurate characterization of the COVID-19 pandemic response. Consider the unfathomable fit of stupidity required to believe that hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin are dangerous while at the same time believing that novel mRNA vaccines—developed at “warp speed”—are perfectly safe.
