Dukkha arises because of ‘thirst’ (taṇhā), and it ceases because of wisdom (paññā). ‘Thirst’ and wisdom are both within the Five Aggregates, as we saw earlier.1 Thus, the germ of their arising as well as that of their cessation are both within the Five Aggregates.
