The stigma of a stay-at-home mom is still so prevalent. No one realizes just how busy you really are when you’re the sole caretaker of children. I went from counting down the seconds to bedtime somedays, to having rowdy teenagers slamming doors in my face, to kissing them both goodbye, knowing they’d never ever need me the way they had always needed me. I had to rediscover myself beyond mom.
