‘Not many people find their calling in life, Aubrey. It’s both your good fortune and your curse that you’ve found yours, and that it has turned out to be us.’
Wyatt shakes his head. ‘Look at us three. I can’t go home because my dad scares the shit out of me. Carter won’t go home because her parents think she’s selfish for telling them the truth, and Argylle hasn’t even got a home, poor bastard.’ ‘Jesus,’ says Carter, looking from one to the other with an expression of dawning horror. ‘Don’t tell me that means I have to be in some kind of club with you two assholes. Just when I thought my day couldn’t get any worse.’
