And to all the guys on Bumble in the PNW: The obscenities in this book had to come from somewhere. Y’all are the real MVPs.
Homicide is illegal, and the only person who’d help me hide the body now lives in New Jersey.
Another left swipe on Logan reveals Nicholas. Pro: I drive a big truck. Con: It’s compensation.
He’d be surprised to know that his slightly neurotic, himbo ass has started to grow on me. A miniscule amount, but it’s growth regardless, and that’s a lot coming from me.
“Because, despite our rocky start, you’re kinda growing on me.” Frowning, he adds, “Like a fungus or something.”
But a slow smirk pulls at his lips as he raises the beer the rest of the way to his mouth and finishes it off. Then he proceeds to floor me further by opening his mouth and saying the filthiest, most seductive thing I’ve ever heard. “And who says you’d be the one doing the fucking, there, Kase?”
“I know what I want. I want you to delete that app and never see any of those fuckers again,” he utters, the words coming out like a harsh command. “Not a single one of them is good enough for you, Kase.” I smile, fingers gripping his waist. “And you think you are?” “I wanna try to be.” His forehead collides with mine. “For you, I wanna try. And that alone is…” “Insane?” He nods, nose brushing mine when he does. “Yeah. Absolutely insane.”
And holy fucking shit. That thing they say about the tall, skinny ones? Absolutely true.
“Well, baby? You got what you wanted. Now, are you planning to stare or play with it?”
“That I have no idea what I’m doing, so why don’t you stop asking me questions and just fucking teach me?”
“You said you want this to mean something.” I nod, searching his eyes. “And with you, it will.”
“What are you doing?” I ask, my words coming out strained and breathless. I force my gaze away from the thick length of his cock and up to his eyes to find him watching me, a little smirk on his lips. “Teaching you,” he whispers, the statement coming out raspy. “So, take off your boxers.”
“That’s such a jock thing.” “What is?” “The sight of me in your jersey going straight to your dick,” he surmises, leaning back against the driver’s door. “Not that I don’t look damn fine in it.” That he does, but what he fails to realize is that him in it does a helluva lot more to the organ in my chest than it does any other part of me.
“Tonight, when you took me out on the dance floor?” I murmur, my fingers skating over his jaw. “That’s when I knew I was completely gone. If I hadn’t realized I’d fallen in love with you before, I knew it then. Felt myself slipping past the point of no return every time you smiled at me.”
How do I tell him that the future I want has him threaded and woven into the fabric now?
“I wish I could say it gets easier,” he whispers with a shrug. “In reality, I think you just get used to it. Living with the pain.”
Theo’s wearing a pained expression now as he glances at Phoenix, giving him one of those don’t talk about Fight Club looks. “Madden’s my step brother. He was just here to deal with…parent stuff.”
“With the 77th pick in this year’s NFL Draft, the Nashville Nighthawks select… Kason Fuller. Tight End, Leighton University.”
“Say something,” I whisper, my fingers curling around his thighs. “Tell me to come with you to Nashville or tell me to go to hell, but please, tell me what you want. You can have whatever it is, baby. Just say the word and it’s yours.” He shakes his head. “I already have everything I want, as long as you come with me.”
